Material Use

blind in reeds

blind in rush

sticky air tasking

every cut reveals

more jungle

path to mother

boats and bridges away

chains and gavels away

cast iron

first tree

gifts smiles in materiel

first to hold us

first to be forgotten

cradle of my days

cradle of all days

stripped of green bones

stripped of red bones

stripped of white bones

stripped of black bones

for every body we place on the scale

another pound of gold is taken off

for every child we sacrifice to the sun

another night is broken by the wails of sobbing children and parents

in those times when words mean nothing

when words do nothing
