The League of Extraordinary Beings

In the local year 2023ce, The League of Extraordinary Beings Inc. was established, in earnest, in this world’s city of Detroit. It was established by Veterans of The Global Wars on Terror and local artists, leaders, and providers.

The League of Extraordinary Beings is a multiversal aid agency designated to provide local communities with tailored stabilizing and revitalizing support.

The League’s diverse cadre are trained, equipped, and experienced in a wide variety of fields. Members come from civic, martial, service, or hospitality industries all over the world.

The League is a myth in the process of crafting its own tale. The League is a fire where everyone is welcome. The League is 40,000 years of tradition. The League is nothing without you.

Our Origin Story

The League was born when a veteran-led initiative, Deployed From Detroit, collided with the raw need of the rest of the world.

Originally focused on suicide prevention, rapid crisis intervention, and mental health stabilization for military personnel. We found ourselves over and over again walking into places where veterans civilians sat side by side, fighting the same ghosts. Door kickers and Columbine survivors. First responders and foster kids. Burned-out medics and burned-in gamers. The uniforms didn’t matter. The wounds did. Our Veterans did what Veterans often do. They led. They took in strays. Fed the scrawny and sparred the scrappy.

So we stopped separating the missions.
And we started building the League.

We are a league of:

🪖 Veterans trained in logistics, food service, intel, special tactics, and chaplaincy

🎨 Artists and builders who make safe spaces real and beautiful

🎮 Gamers and streamers who build new worlds and gather lost ones

🧰 Carpenters, engineers, hunters, and healers

👶 Parents, kids, pets, and play—because we are building futures, not just fighting fires

Civilian rough necks and dreamers paired with battle tested leaders and planners.
A first sergeant in every pot 🙂
A little pot for all the sergeants 🙂

Current Mission: Harper House

Detroit is our proving ground—and Harper House is our pilot program.

This transitional care and cooperative housing experiment supports people with Complex PTSD, trauma-linked conditions, and the chaotic beauty of real recovery.

Since launch, we’ve supported:

12+ residents and many more guests

6+ pets

Just as many children, toddlers, and babies

Hundreds of hot meals—with no one leaving hungry

We are not a shelter. We’re a stronghold.
We don’t do intake. We make home.
We’re training veterans to lead, civilians to trust, and everyone to eat together like it matters.

We’re currently not taking any applications. Please feel free to contact the Hand and hand@legioextra.com

Next Mission: Battle School & Agent School

Our future depends on trained weirdos who know how to hold a line and carry a casserole. Enter our two newest programs:

Battle School

Self-defense meets self-reliance. This course trains participants in:

Personal sovereignty

Situational awareness

Basic tactical confidence

Emotional regulation through physical practice

For anyone who’s ever felt unsafe in their own skin or their own city.

Agent School

This is basic and advanced training for those stepping into new roles in life and developing operational independence in your area of focus. Curriculum includes:

Ad-hock team operations

Program development

Mission planning

Autonomous response capability

Agents graduate able to plug into or lead projects just about anywhere in the world—whether that’s a soup kitchen, a protest camp, or a gaming convention.

Madness As Method

We don’t shy away from being weird, wounded, or way off the map. We lean in.
Because “normal” doesn’t fix anything—but disciplined madness just might.

We train like a militia and host like a grandmother.
We use cosplay to diagnose burnout and spreadsheets to build arcologies.
We treat care work as sacred and take fun seriously.

The League is how we heal ourselves by healing the world.
It’s how we write better stories—together.

Join the Lore

If you’re broken, brilliant, brave, or just beginning—there’s room for you here.

🕯️ Bring your wounds.
🛠️ Bring your tools.
🫡 Bring your weird.

We’ve got a mission for you.
