Don’t Forget to Tip Your Waiter

crawling from its throat

gag on willow wisps

choke on lightning bugs

mud swells from her heart

dripping a cold toe

from prom to the grave

singing the old song

of the south

of the middle

we feast at this table

in mockery to joy

folded napkins

in the lap of luxury
